The small girl quietly crawled out of her bed and climbed up onto the window seat. She looked up at the stars and hugged her knees. She smiled slightly and bowed her head, muttering a small wish. She raised her head and blinked in surprise as a star shot across the sky, seemingly landing not too far from the girls' home.

She perked up and quickly jumped off the window seat, grabbing a small flashlight and pulling on her jacket. She quickly ran down the steps and slipped out the back door, running towards the direction of the fallen star. She held her flashlight out bravely and slowed to a walk as she neared the area.

She waved away some dust and softly gaped at the small hole in the ground, a faint light shining in the middle. The girl smiled widely and quickly climbed down. She ran over to the faint light and softly gasped, dropping her flashlight. It flickered out and the girl slowly stepped closer to the fallen star.

The light shifted into a little girl and looked up, smiling slightly. She slowly raised up and hovered off the ground, her glowing yellow dress floating around her. "Hello, Alice. You are much prettier up close like this."

Alice blinked and smiled widely. "You must be my wishing star! Oh, you're so pretty! You look like you're swimming underwater! But, you're all gold and glowy!"

The star giggled softly and twirled around the girl, looking over her. "You're very pretty, too. You have a lot more colors than I've ever seen."

Alice began bouncing on her heels and giggled happily. "You're so pretty! And you can fly!"

The star smiled and asked, "Would you like me to take you with me?"

Alice stopped bouncing and looked up at the sky. "I can't go to space, though. There's no air and I need air to breathe."

The star giggled softly and held out her hand. "I can show you part of what I see. You don't have to go to my world. I can just show you some of the sky."

Alice smiled and nodded rapidly, working on zipping up her jacket. "Let's go now!"

The star smiled and Alice took her hand. The star gently lifted her up and Alice squeaked, tightening her grip on the star's hand. The star squeezed her hand reassuringly and floated higher, above the treeline. Alice looked around in awe and the star smiled at her, floating towards the cliffside facing the ocean.

The star landed on her feet and Alice stood beside her. The star sat down and smiled, patting the spot beside her. Alice sat down beside the star and hugged her pajama-covered knees. The star smiled and said, "This planet is much more beautiful up close. I wish I could visit more often."

Alice tilted her head and asked, "Why can't you visit?"

The star waved her hand at the sky and said, "My home is the sky. My brothers and sisters are the stars. Some are much older than others and some aren't so nice. I am still young and have only seen this galaxy. There are many more galaxies that I am supposed to visit. I cannot spend all of my time here."

Alice nodded slightly and rested her chin on her knees. "Oh. Do you have a name? I would like to remember you."

The star shook her head. "I have yet to be discovered by any group of beings. I do not have a name."

Alice smiled slightly and asked, "Can I name you, then?"

The star smiled slightly and nodded. "I promise to remember the name you will give me."

Alice hummed softly and tapped her cheek as she thought. "How about Seraphina? Or, just Sera for short?"

The star, now named Seraphina, smiled. "I would like that a lot. My name is Seraphina and you are my friend, Alice. I will remember you forever."

Alice smiled and laid on her back. "Thank you, Seraphina."

Seraphina smiled and took Alice's in her hand, laying back beside her. The two young girls simply stared up at the sky together, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky. Alice eventually fell asleep and Seraphina carefully lifted her up, carrying her back home. She carefully took the jacket off of Alice and tucked her in the bed.

Seraphina looked around the room and spotted a small bag. She picked it up and concentrated before leaving a bit of her personal starlight in the bag. She closed it and petted Alice's hair before disappearing, shooting back up into the sky.

This is a story I came up with one night. Hope you all like it!!
